EJ-EH HOLDEN 1962-1965



 

 

HOLDEN Red 6CYL CONVERSION



 



  CRS can modify HR type front ends to suit Holden red 6 cylinder engines and mounting hardware to work with our front or rear rack set ups.


  Things to consider are;


 

EJ Holdens



  EJ Holdens do not have a gearbox crossmember so if converting to a Holden red 6 cylinder engine

CRS can supply a change over HR type crossmember and rack conversion kit as with EH but you will need to make a custom gearbox crossmember which is difficult with the EJ not having any mounting point for one from the factory.

  EH holdens have a gearbox crossmember from the factory and CRS can modify your original
crossmember to suit the following transmissons on a change over basis;

  The picture below shows the EM114 mount adaptor needed for the drivers side when using
a front mount rack with Holden Red 6 cylinder engines.



The EM114 is shown in red. This front end is set up with staggered engine mounts for clearance
for the steering shaft. The EM114 then adapts the engine mount to the correct position

This set up is more difficult to set up initially but offers more

 
turning circle and less bump steer than the front mount rack set up.

 



  For Holden Red 6 cylinder application you will need to modify your sump for clearance to the rack. The picture below shows the area that requires modification.
